Keynote from the conference „Rekinning, Reckoning and Justice“ by BGHRA (Black German Heritage And Research Association) on February 21.
The talk is exploring intersections of justice, activism and spirituality.
- Why does critical thinking remain a vital part of spiritual life?
- What are some religious challenges unique to the Black German context?
Black German communities and individuals navigate complex challenges unique to our context. One of which, rarely addressed, is the spiritual one. In Germany, access to grown, present and supportive Black spiritual traditions is limited. This can create vulnerability to religious exploitation, abuse and an equally predatory New Age industry. The talk aims to explore how the absence of protective spiritual networks affects justice activism and our collective resilience in challenging times.
